Almost made it home in one piece....

Josh's summer of rafting is over (which means school is around the corner!). On his last day he had an injury when his oar hit a rock and hit him in the head...... well, that is what he wants me to say anyway! He was too late getting into the doctor for stiches but he did have to get a couple shots and is on anitbiotics.

Beach Trip

I had a great beach trip to Suzy's house on the Long Beach Peninsula. Friends Gayle and Karen joined us. We started with a walk on the beach Tuesday afternoon that ended at a wine bar of course!
The pelicans were busy fishing and fun to watch. They look like they fly in slow motion. It was fitting then that we ended the day with dinner at a restaurant named "Pelicano". Great salmon and crab cakes!
Wednesday began with a 9 hole round at the Peninsula Golf Course. It was great quirky beach golf with lots of roll and crazy bounces.
Checking to see if the green is clear!
We got pretty excited because the old guys in front of us said we "hit a pretty good ball".
One thing that is always great about the beach in the summer is the beautiful flowers everywhere. They really thrive in the ocean air.
After golf and a walk around Long Beach we headed down to Waikiki Beach to enjoy the view towards Cape Disappointment. Pretty nice beach day. We ended the day with more great food at "The Depot" in Seaview.

Our last stop before we returned to Vancouver on Thursday was the harbor in Ilwaco where we browsed through a few galleries.

The 4th of McCall

Lindy and I headed to McCall for the 4th. It was a fun time, a couple of my friends were there from high school to join in the festivities of wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, beach lounging and firework watching. If you get a chance you should ask Lindy about here tubing experience.

Kenz and Molly- Bachlorette Party

Warning: Some pictures may be more appropriate for "Facebook" then the family blog, but I figured we all know by now that Kelsey and her friends like to have too many cocktails and too much fun, so what the heck! Here are some pictures from McKenzie and Molly's bachlorette party in Stanley ID. We had so much fun camping it up just us girls, we are very rugged! (except for a guest appearance by Russ Lodge) I had the nickname "Firestarter" because I started the fire Saturday morning and tended to it pretty much all day/night, no one touched my fire! (In one picture the Firestarter looks bored of her fire.) We went rafting on Saturday too, in 55 degrees and rain, so that explains our really cute rafting outfits and my really huge wet suit. (See picture of us warming up after by the propane heat gun.) But I think the Gilgen's secret Bloody Mary mix had already been going around the campsite so we didn't care. We also went to Redfish Lodge for dinner and of course some dancing at the Rod and Gun. McKenzie and I tepeed Shannon sleeping, and McKenzie and Molly took pictures in the weird "graves" around the campsite, meaning marriage equals death I guess? Although I love being married to Josh!

July 4th Golf

Nothing like a little family golf on the 4th of July. It was pretty hot but we had a great time with Kelsey. I think we drank gallons of water! Kelsey and Dad on the 12th hole. Kelsey wanted to get married on this hole when she was a kid.
We were looking for shade on every hole. Pretty easy to find at Royal Oaks.

The best part is always the cold beverage afterwards on the patio! Dad shot 73 from the black tees - pretty good for a 60 year old.
